Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) - Guide to Mallorca (PMI) Airport

Son Sant Joan International Airport is Mallorca's main air hub, located five miles from Palma. Most flights to Mallorca are direct, while there are also frequent connections with the Spanish mainland. Additionally, visitors can reach the island by ferry from Barcelona or Valencia. There is a local bus service from the airport to Palma, from where there are connecting buses to the resorts.

Visitors who arrive on package holidays will usually have their transport provided, while independent travellers may find the most convenient way to get around the island is to hire a car, with rates being reasonable. Motorbikes and scooters are also popular, but visitors should exercise caution when driving on unfamiliar roads.

Visitors can also travel by train from Plaça de Espanya in Palma to Sóller and Inca, from where you can continue by rail to Sa Pobla. Boats and water-taxis operate between the resorts as an alternative to travelling by road.
